Azerbaijan continues COVID-19 vaccination process that started on January 18.

As part of the staged vaccination, citizens aged 50 and older will be vaccinated starting from February 17, the Public Health Ministry, the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance (CMI), and the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB) of the country said in their joint statement on February 16.

The vaccination is in line with the “Strategy of vaccination against COVID-19 in Azerbaijan for 2021-2022”.

China's Sinovac vaccine is used for the vaccination that is free and on voluntary basis.

Medical workers were first to receive the vaccine. The next stage of COVID-19 vaccination for citizens over 65 years old started on February 8, while vaccination of police officers started on February 12.

Servicemen of the Azerbaijan Army are also being vaccinated. Vaccination is carried out on a voluntary basis.

Vaccination of military personnel of the military units stationed in the Baku garrison is held at the Main Clinical Hospital of the Armed Forces. Vaccination of servicemen of military units stationed in the liberated territories is organized in the relevant military medical institutions.

Citizens request vaccination by registering online. They are asked to take the online queue on the website randevu.its.gov.az, selecting the vaccination item, date and time. Upon completion of the registration, a message is sent, displaying the date, time and place where the first dose of the vaccine will be received.

The re-registration after 28 days, for the administering of the second dose of vaccine, is not required, as an automatic electronic queue is created.
