The European Film Festival, organized by diplomatic missions of EU member states, running in Baku for several days will come to an end on November 6.

Romanian film “Orient Express” to take place at the Park Cinema Flame Towers at 21:00 will close the festival.

The film is directed by famous Romanian director Sergiu Nicolaescu and participated at several international festivals, including the ones in Haifa (Israel) and Bratislava (Slovakia). The movie touches upon the life of a Romanian prince between the two world wars. It will be shown in Romanian language with subtitles in English.

The address of the venue is 1A Mehdi Huseyn street. Entrance to the film is free and no tickets are needed.

Presentation of this film in Baku is part of Embassy’s campaign dedicated to promotion of Romanian culture in Azerbaijan.

Furthermore, the fact that the movie will be shown in the framework of the Festival shows the importance attached by Romania to European initiatives. Every year a Romanian movie is broadcasted at the European Film Festival, enjoying a very warm welcome on the side of the Azerbaijani public.

Romania, which has been the second country in the world to recognize independence of Azerbaijan, pays a special attention to the development of bilateral relations with Baku in all fields. For Romania Azerbaijan is a strategic partner.

Besides solid political dialogue and dynamic economic cooperation, cultural links are increasing in the last period of time.

As an EU and NATO member, Romania actively supports Azerbaijan to enhance its relations with the European and Euro-Atlantic institutions.

The European Film Festival has been held in Baku since 2010 and serves to further build and strengthen the cultural links between the countries of the European Union and Azerbaijan, contributing to a better mutual understanding.

This year the films – representing various genres like comedy, drama, documentary, animation make the Festival attractive to all film lovers. The featured films were produced in Germany, Finland, Czech Republic, UK, Austria, Croatia, Belgium, Romania, Italy, Estonia, France, Spain, Latvia, Hungary, Bulgaria and Azerbaijan.
