Artworks by Europe’s famous Cracking Art Group and Samani International Art Exhibition were presented at the Heydar Aliyev Center on March 18.

Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Leyla Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony.

The Center’s park hosts the traditional Samani exhibition on the eve of Novruz holiday. The exhibition demonstrates examples of modern art – samanis.

Freshly sprouted wheat of samani, a symbol of life and fertility, represents the awakening of nature. The advent of spring has been celebrated in Azerbaijan and many eastern countries since ancient times.

The art show allows visitors to share the holiday spirit and be acquainted with the works of artists who represent a modern approach to the traditions of Novruz.

Moreover, Cracking Art Group, established by six European painters Renzo Nucara, Marco Veronese, Kicco, French Alex Angi, Belgian Carlo Rizzetti and William Sweetlove in 1993, presents their remarkable art in Baku.

The movement aims to changing people’s imagination and perception when it comes to modern art and creating novelties in art by implementing innovative methods in social and environmental directions.

The group succeeded in Baku, presenting giant and brightly colored animals using recycled and easily disposed synthetic materials.

Through their art the Cracking Art artworks attracted the public's attention on environmental issues and demonstrated the application of new technologies.

Their creations have already conquered a number of cities by now, including New York, Sydney, and Milan.

The demonstration in the Heydar Aliyev Center’s park for Baku citizens and guests took place under the official partnership of the International Dialogue for Environmental Action Public Union.

The exhibition is aimed at solving ecological problems in Azerbaijan and drawing people’s attention to the protection of the fauna and flora.
