The series of concerts of the Russian State Symphony Orchestra named after Safonov running under the conductor of the Azerbaijan State Opera and Ballet Theatre, the teacher of Baku Music Academy Eyyub Guliyev were held on September 5-7.

The tours of the Azerbaijani conductor were co-organized by the Culture of Ministry of Russia and the North Caucasus State Philharmonic.

The concerts were held as part of the International Music Festival "Velvet Season". They were dedicated to the memory of the great Soviet conductor, People's Artist of the USSR Yevgeni Svetlanov.

The concert program included works of favorite composers Evgeni Svetlanov - Rimsky-Korsakov (Overture to the opera "The Tsar's Bride"), Stravinsky (suite from the ballet "The Firebird") and Sergei Rachmaninov ("Symphonic Dances ").

After each grandiose performance, a huge standing ovation was given to the conductor and the musicians of the orchestra of the Russian in the best halls of the southern region of Russia - Great Hall of the Philharmonic of Safonov, in the hall named after Alexander Scriabin (Kislovodsk) and in the Pyatigorsk concert hall "Kamerton".

The concert was also attended by the famous film and theater actor, People's Artist of Russia Sergei Chonishvili.

Meanwhile, presentation of the second season of "Tales of the old Kursaal" was held in the hall after the name of Safonov. "Tales" performed by Chonishvili with the participation of Azerbaijani conductor and the Russian State Orchestra arose great interest among the audience.

Within the festival "Velvet Season", there were some scheduled concerts of famous conductors and instrumentalists such as Stephanie Romani (Italy), Svetlana Gentle (Russia), Rem Urasin (Tatarstan), Stanislav Kochanowski and Zaurbek Gukkaev (St. Petersburg).
