London to host event on Azerbaijan`s refugees and IDPs
The renowned social and political photojournalist, Ed Kashi, will present photographs that document some of the approximately 875,000 Azerbaijanis who were displaced by the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The event, organized by VII Photo and the European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS), will take place on April 13-19 in the gallery of Oxo Tower Wharf, London, AzerTag state news agency reported.
These striking images chronicle their lives as refugees and internally displaced persons over two decades later.
Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts. Armenia constantly violates a ceasefire agreement signed with Azerbaijan in 1994 and refuses to implement the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
