Charity premiere of “McConkey” held in Baku
A charity premiere of "McConkey", the new documentary about one of the world`s most dedicated freestyle skiers, Shane McConkey, was held at "Nizami" Cinema Center in Baku.
"McConkey," a feature-length documentary to be released in 2013, is a heartfelt examination of the legacy one athlete left to the progression of his sports, and the path he paved to conquer his dreams.
Shane McConkey is revered as a pioneer of freeskiing and ski-BASE jumping, and through his talent and ability to use his trademark irreverent humor to inspire countless lives.
Produced by Red Bull Media House, in association with Matchstick Productions, and directed by Murray Wais, Steve Winter, Scott Gaffney, David Zieff and Rob Bruce, McConkey celebrates the life of one of the world`s ultimate innovators: Shane McConkey. Featuring incredible action footage and Shane`s own home videos, McConkey offers a rare look at his most intense risks as well as an intimate portrait of his personal life.
McConkey is the latest of eight films released in the last two years by Red Bull Media House and follows the media company`s most successful release to-date, The Art of Flight, which is the most viewed, celebrated, and commercially successful snowboard film in history.
The premier of McConkey first went on the road this fall with one-night screenings in over 20 locations in Shane McConkey`s hometown of Squaw Valley, California on October 5.
The film also opened theatrically in Los Angeles and New York on October 11.
