Baku to host international architecture award contest

The 1st Baku International Architecture Award competition dedicated to the 90th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev will be organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan (UAA) from October 31 to November 5.
The objective is to highlight architectural diversity, discover new ideas and new realizations in construction and planning to achieve the maximum diversity of ideas and projects for practical implementation in the future with the assistance of the International Union of Architects and the Azerbaijani architects union.
The award is open to architects and students. The results of the contest, which will be conducted in seven nominations, will be announced in a solemn ceremony.
The nominations include the one for the best project implemented
in the field of public buildings architecture; the best project in
residential architecture; the best interior design;
the best unbuilt design; the best project in landscape
architecture; the best project in rehabilitation and reconstruction
of buildings; the best publication in the field of
architecture.
The winner will be awarded with a statuette, a diploma of the corresponding category and a money award of 4,000 manats (around $5,000).
The second place winner will receive a diploma and a money award worth 2,500 manats ($3,200), while the third place winner will get a diploma and a money award worth 1,000 manats ($1,400).
