Baku hosts conference on Turkic peoples' music
The Union of Azerbaijan Composers hosted a scientific conference on the music of Turkic peoples on September 19,AzerTag state news agency reported.
The event was part of the 5th Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival co-organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Chairman of the Union, People`s Artist Firangiz Alizade has made a report on the music of modern Azerbaijan and Turkic peoples.
The International Music Festival is traditionally held in the country in late September, opening on National Music Day, September 18.
This year the festival will be joined by famous conductors and soloists, young artists, and music bands from Russia, Turkey, Germany, France, the United States, Slovakia and Lithuania.
