A gala opening ceremony of young and talented Azerbaijani painter Maryam Alakbarli`s exhibition has been held in Deauville, northwestern France, Azertag state news agency reported.

Sponsored by award-winning French actress, artist and dancer Juliette Binoche, the young artist's exhibition, which includes 81 paintings, was co-organized by the American Films Festival organizing committee and Groupe Lucien Barriere at the Royal Barriere and Normandy Barriere hotels in Deauville.

The solemn opening ceremony of the exhibition, held at Royal Barrier Hotel, was opened by Groupe Lucien Barriere representative Laurent Roussen.

Roussen said that the exhibition of the young Azerbaijani painter has concurred with the 39th American Film Festival. Speaking of the talented Maryam`s works, Roussen noted that a number of well-known artists have praised her pictures. Scenery of nature in her marvelous works was said to indicate the young artist's passion for nature.

Addressing the event, Tahir Salahov, People's Artist of Russia and Azerbaijan, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts and member of the academies of art of France, Spain, Germany and Austria, praised the works of Alakbarli, welcoming the opening of the exhibition in Deauville.

Salahov spoke about the great interest of the audience for the exhibitions featuring the works of Alakbarli at different times in Italy, Russia and other countries. He said her own vision of the world can be sensed clearly in her works. The world outlook arising from this viewpoint was expressed in the artist's creativity. This is the mirror of her soul. A mirror through which Maryam`s creativity, talent and ability transcend. The young artist's works have been exhibited in numerous countries of the world and have always been a success.

Salahov, a well-known Azerbaijani artist, also expressed confidence that there will be excellent achievements in Maryam`s works in the future.

Deauville Mayor Philippe Augier also spoke of the talented Azerbaijani painter's style, praising it as mostly realistic. He wrapped up his speech wishing Maryam successes in her future career.

Art lovers visiting the exhibition highly appreciated Maryam`s works.

The event participants watched a video describing the artist`s meetings with well-known art masters from the whole world and information about the exhibition.

The event was also attended by Azerbaijan's Ambassador to France Elchin Amirbayov, officials of the Deauville city municipality, famous actors and actresses, family members of the young artist and others.

In conclusion, music was performed by outstanding Azerbaijani musicians.
