Show of Turkic states` young fashion designers held in Baku

A show of young fashion designers was held at the Art Garden Gallery of Baku as part of the international festival of creative youths from Turkic-speaking countries organized by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Youth and Sports on July 24.

The festival of creative youths devoted to the 90th anniversary of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev opened at the YAY Gallery on July 23. The festival brings together young talents from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Turkey.

National peculiarities of Turkic countries that each of them has besides the common features were presented through fashion, dance, photos, arts and crafts, etc. within the frame of the festival.

Each of the clothing items demonstrated at the fashion show and prepared by young, talented and promising fashion designers was unique and distinctive. The works of the young designers reflecting national peculiarities of their home countries were cheered with a storm of applause by the audience.

Turkish, Kazakh, Uzbek, Kyrgyz and Turkmen participants of the festival visited the Alley of Honors to lay a wreath at the grave of Azerbaijan`s national leader, founder and architect of modern Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev, and put flowers at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva on the first day of the event.

Youths of the Turkic-speaking states also visited the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who lost their lives for the country's independence and territorial integrity. They laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.

The festival of creative youths is aimed at creating a cultural platform through exchange of cultural and spiritual achievements of young people in Turkic-speaking countries, developing international relations of creative youth, promoting cultural, national and spiritual values and traditions of Turkic-speaking nations.

The festival is being conducted in six nominations - vocal, dancing, singing, fashion, photography, and arts and crafts. The festival includes a gala concert featuring talented and creative young people, an exhibition of works by young photographers and samples of arts and crafts.

Turkic states enjoy close ties. They established the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS) in 2009 as an international intergovernmental organization, with the overarching aim of promoting comprehensive cooperation among Turkic states. Its four founding member states are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.

Cooperation under CCTS is based on the particular solidarity stemming from the unity of common history, culture, identity and language of Turkic-speaking peoples. Member states have stated their commitment to the basic principles of democracy, respect for human rights, rule of law and good governance.
