An art exhibition, "Azerbaijan through the eyes of Uzbek children,
Uzbekistan through the eyes of Azerbaijani children", has opened
its doors to visitors as part of Icherisheher Art Fair in the
ancient and central part of Azerbaijan's capital Baku.
The exhibition is co-organized by the State Art Gallery of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Azerbaijani Cultural Center after Heydar Aliyev under the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan.
A total of 50 works - 25 by Azerbaijani and 25 by Uzbek children - are on display at the exhibition, in which young artists expressed their vision about the country where they have not ever been but about which their opinion has been shaped by means of television and media as well as under the influence of elders' stories.
The works are very interesting and vivid and generally reflect the national culture and art of the Azerbaijani and Uzbek people.
The first such exhibition was arranged on May 26 in Tashkent to mark the 95th anniversary of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.
"This kind of exhibitions bringing together our nations promote cultural relations, broaden outlook and give our children the knowledge of the country," Director of the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Uzbekistan named after Heydar Aliyev, Samir Abbasov, says.
According to Abbasov, a number of projects are planned with the aim to promote the national culture and art in the Central Asian state.
Under these projects Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan will sign a memorandum on scientific medical libraries in near future.
Abbasov further said that a proposal of signing a memorandum on cooperation between Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami Ganjavi and Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University was made and both sides welcomed it.
Abbasov also said an endeavor was undertaken to broadly cover Azerbaijani themes in Uzbek media. A competition in three nominations - Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan, and Azerbaijani culture - has been announced by the Cultural Center as part of this effort.
The project will be organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Uzbekistan, and the winners will be awarded.
