Red Bull Collective Art exhibition to open in Baku
By Nazrin Gadimova
Red Bull Collective Art exhibition is due to open on June 14 at the Baku Creative Center. Red Bull Collective Art takes the principle of 'Cadavre exquís' and brings it into the digital age.
Cadavre exquís is a collaborative creative technique first introduced by Surrealists around 1925. It is a method by which sets of words or images are collectively assembled. This is done in sequence, with participants able to see the end of the previous person's contribution or following a set rule to create a unique piece of collective art.
Participants are free to choose if they want to paint, draw or scribble their work or just to create it digitally with design software. Thus, each participant makes a unique contribution to a collective effort.
Within two weeks, Red Bull Collective Art will provide students, beginners and designers, photographers and artists from 85 countries, including Azerbaijan, with a unique opportunity to take part in the biggest creative process in the world.
Those who wish to participate need to register at www.redbullcollectiveart.com. Then participants are given the opportunity to choose a convenient time to contribute to the project.
Participants just need to download a special form from the website and create a picture in free style, and then upload it back to the site where it will become part of the whole art creation conceived by participants from 85 countries.
The Red Bull company has already initiated its projects in Baku before, as the capital of Azerbaijan hosted Red Bull Showrun Baku, a breathtaking show put on by Running Showcar team on June 17, 2012. Later, Ryan Doyle from the United Kingdom showed his unique abilities in free running during Red Bull Parkour in Baku on May 25, 2013.
