Spanish singer aims to `convey the feeling of the song` to Eurovision audience
Spain`s representative at the Eurovision song contest, Pastora Soler, has said the most important thing at the contest is to convey the ``feeling of the song`` to the audience.
``I will be working and rehearsing much until arriving to Baku and hope I will be able to convey the feeling of the song to the audience.`` Soler told the Baku-based Trend news agency in an interview.
The final of the 2012 Eurovision song contest is due in the Azerbaijani capital Baku on May 26, following two semifinals on May 22 and 24. The contest will be held at the Baku Crystal Hall, built in the seaside park of Baku.
Soler expects the competition to give her an invaluable experience. She added, ``The most difficult thing is to combine my tour in Spain with the preparations and rehearsals of Eurovision.``
``A good song for me at Eurovision is that which has a good staging, lyrics and music and, most importantly, one that conveys the feeling,`` Soler said.
The singer said her song ``Quedate conmigo`` is a love ballad which has nothing of flamenco, a genre that is very traditional in Spain, but, in her opinion, is not suitable for a European audience.
``I`ll only tell you that I`ll have five backing singers with me on the stage,`` she said.
Soler noted that she has never been to Azerbaijan and doesn`t know much about the country, but wants to familiarize herself with it during the visit. ``I have seen pictures of Baku and it`s a beautiful and modern city!`` she added.
Soler said it`s a great responsibility to represent her country at the Eurovision contest. ``But it`s my job, and I`ll try to deliver a brilliant performance to my audience... I think no one is ready to be criticized, but I know my performance will be analyzed and it`s impossible to please everyone.``
Soler was born in Coria del Rio, a small town near Seville. She has been performing at music festivals since childhood. She released her first album at the age of 14.
