Eurovision stars to join Baku event
Eurovision stars - Sasha Son of Lithuania, the Paula and Ovi duet from Romania and Moldova’s Zdob si Zdub band – will arrive in the Azerbaijani capital Baku on Friday to participate at a festival devoted to the grain-picking season.
A concert to be held as part of the Caspian Coast Uzum Yigimi Festivali will also feature the singers who successfully represented Azerbaijan at Eurovision in past years – Aysel Teymurzada and Safura Alizada, as well as Maryam Shabanova and the Milk & Kisses band.
Baku residents and visitors joining the festival will have the opportunity to try samples of many countries’ national cuisines and become familiar with various crafts put on display. Attendees will be able to buy or taste fresh grapes and grape juice, delicious cheese and wines.
The goal of conducting the festival is to revive the many century-long traditions of grape-growing in Azerbaijan.
