Expats to pay for use of Azeri folklore
BAKU – Foreign citizens will be required to pay a fee to use Azerbaijani folklore, according to changes made to the country’s laws on Tuesday.
The amendments to the law on protecting folklore samples will prevent "the plundering of folklore", chairman of the parliamentary committee for culture, Nizami Jafarov, has said.
According to the amendments, both private individuals and organizations will have to seek authorization from the government and pay for folklore samples used for commercial purposes.
