Silk Road Festival welcomes back music lovers to Shaki [PHOTOS]

The 12th Silk Road International Music Festival in Shaki has gathered top musicians from both local and international scenes to perform in Shaki during the summer months.
The Chinese ensemble of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture is among international guests, who performs at the festival.
Founded in 1956, the ensemble is the first professional literary and artistic collective of the Yi people, Azernews reports.
Since its foundation, the ensemble has united many outstanding composers, dancers, singers, performers, as well as well-known screenwriters and directors. More than 100 performances presented by the ensemble have been awarded international, national and state awards.
The ensemble actively performs worldwide for the purpose of international cultural and art exchange. It makes a great contribution to the strengthening of peace, cultural integration and national unity in the world.
The musical numbers presented by the ensemble were received with interest by the audience.
At the end of the concert, the ensemble was presented with the festival's main symbol.
The opera "Intizar" by chairman of the Azerbaijan Composers' Union, People's Artist Frangiz Alizade to the libretto of the rector of the Moscow State University's Baku branch, Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences, academician Nargiz Pashayeva was another highlight of the festival.
The Symphony Orchestra of the Azerbaijan State Opera and Ballet Theater performed at the festival under the baton of Honored Artist Ayyub Guliyev.
People's Artist Akram Poladov, Honored Artists Inara Babayeva, Ramil Gasimov, Sabina Vahabzade, Ilaha Afandiyeva, Tural Aghasiyev, Samir Samadov, young soloists Taleh Yakhyayev, Fahmin Ahmadli, Aysel Ibrahimova, Vugar Aliyev took part in the opera production.
The audience highly appreciated the vocals and artistry of the opera stars. The opera's stage director, Honored Art Worker Hafiz Guliyev, choirmaster, Honored Art Worker Sevil Hajiyeva got serious about the task at hand.
Shaki residents and the city's guests watched with special enthusiasm "Karabakh shikestesi" performed by singer Anar Omerov and Honored Artist Samir Samadov's dance of Dervish.
After the demonstration of the production, the head of the Shaki City Executive Authority Elkhan Usubov, the festival's artistic, People's Artist Frangiz Alizade and TURKSOY representative for Azerbaijan Elchin Gafarli congratulated all the participants of the opera production.
All soloists and artists were awarded with certificates on the occasion of the TURKSOY's 30th anniversary.
Note that Silk Road Music Festival International Music Festival is held under the joint organization of the Azerbaijan Composers' Union, Shaki Executive Power and the Culture Ministry.
