Capital to host exhibition of Italian fashion house Versace

AFDA GALA 2019, within the framework of which the exhibition of clothes of the legendary Italian fashion house Versace will be held, is scheduled to take place in Baku on January 24-27.
This was announced at an event dedicated to the creation of the Azerbaijan Fashion Designers Association (AFDA), Trend Life reported on October 31.
The founder and executive director of AFDA, Aysel Huseynova, noted that the main mission of the association is to make Azerbaijan one of the most influential countries in the field of fashion design in the CIS region.
She went ont on to say that in the near future educational programs in the field of fashion will be organized, fashion networking, an Internet database of Azerbaijani fashion history and designers and a fund of national designers will be created.
"AFDA GALA 2019 will be held in late January. These are 4 days of the fashion show marathon, exhibitions, installations and master classes. AFDA GALA 2019 is a unique exhibition of the achievements of the fashion industry in the Caucasus. The outfits and accessories of the best designers of Azerbaijan and abroad will be shown. The culmination will be the exhibition of the outfits of the legendary Italian fashion house Versace," Aysel Huseynova shared her plans for the near future.
The event will feature more than fifty outfits of men's and women's clothing since the founding of the fashion house. An employee of the Italian Embassy in Azerbaijan, Gunay Bornak, stressed the importance of the project and wished success to AFDA.
"Italy is the personification of the word fashion, therefore, when Aysel Huseynova asked for our support, we gladly joined the project. We believe that this event is a very important step in the development of Italian-Azerbaijani relations, and we, in turn, will support AFDA in its ambitious steps," Gunay Bornak added.
The event, which was held in the form of discussions, was attended by the editors of glossy magazines, fashion bloggers and influensers in the fashion industry.
Among the speakers were designers Alexandra Salamakhina, Zumrud Mirzaliyeva, Gunel Behbudova, Aysel Sadigova, Jamil Alexander, stylist Kenul Krupchinskaya, dean of the State University of Culture and Arts Sevil Kerimova and teacher of the university Aysel Azizova, representatives of The Most - Elchin Amirov and Emil Ahundov, blogger Aynur Azizova, Azerbaijan Fashion Week organizer Maria Orujova, co-founder of LuxOut Sabina Mirzaeva-Ataeva and others.
