A selection round for the sixth international contest of young performers of classical music from Islamic countries has been launched in Baku.
A gala concert and the award ceremony will be held at the Baku Music Academy on April 20, Azertac reported.
The contest will be organized by ISESCO and Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Youth and Sport in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Baku Music Academy and Kainat Youth Center.
Last year, the competition brought together young musicians from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Indonesia etc.
The main prize of the festival (Grand Prix) was presented to Azerbaijani pianist Muhammad Ali Pasha-zadeh.
The winners of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were awarded diplomas and gifts.
Other participants of the competition were awarded prizes of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
