Love and intrigue on Baku's stage [PHOTO]

The first theatrical premiere of 2017 took place at the Azerbaijan State Musical Theatre.
An operetta by Hungarian composer Imre Kalman was presented to the Baku audience, Trend Life reported. Officials of the Culture and Tourism Ministry, employees of foreign embassies, public and art figures attended the event.
"The Riviera Girl and The Gipsy Princess" is the story of the love of a famous cabaret star for a Prince, who cannot marry a commoner. His mother, Princess Karen, eventually saves the day with a last minute disclosure about her own past.
The operetta is widely beloved in Hungary, Austria, Germany, all of Europe and particularly in the former Soviet Union, where it had been adapted into a popular film.
The performance was staged by Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Boris Lukinsky. The conductor is the honored art worker Nazim Hajialibeyov, artistic director –Alexander Fedorov, costume designer - Elena Almazova ,choreographers -Elena and Zakir Agaeva, choirmaster-honored artist Vagif Matanov, conductor – honored artist Fakhraddin Atayev, concertmaster -Emin Hasanov, assistant stage directors- Elmeddin Dadashov and Sevinj Mammadova.
Main roles were performed by honored artists Nargiz Karimova, Boris Grafkin, Saida Sharifaliyeva, Svetlana Bulakh, actors Rauf Babayev, Emil Heydarov, Firuz Mammadov, Nijat Ali, Elchin Imanov, Elmaddin Dadashov, actresses Yuliya Heydarova, Aydan Hasanova, Marina Litvinenko, Telnaz Huseynova.
Beautiful and stunning voices, great mastery of the orchestra and conductor, all this has made the performance sparkling and fiery. The actors played their roles perfectly, showing the storm of passion and emotions.
