Polish envoy cites sluggish trade
The annual trade turnover between Poland and Azerbaijan makes up
$70 million, which is an extremely low figure, the Polish
ambassador in Baku said.
Krzysztof Krajewski told reporters that one of the reasons for the sluggish trade relations was the lack of charter flights between the two countries and that Baku and Warsaw were in talks on the matter.
The diplomat said mutual visits by the Polish and Azerbaijani presidents and foreign ministers had paved the way for bringing political relations closer.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov are expected to visit Poland in 2008, Krajewski added.
