The Center for Oceanography and Marine Biology "Moskvarium" has been launched at VDNKh (All-Russia Exhibition Centre) in Moscow.

The Center was built by the «Kievskaya Ploshchad» company, owned by the businessmen of Azerbaijani origin God Nisanov and Zarah Iliev, according to the Azerbaijani embassy in the Russian Federation.

The opening ceremony was attended by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin briefed the participants on reconstruction of the exhibition space.

Sobyanin also said that the construction of Europe's largest research and educational Oceanography Centre was completed in July of this year.

President Putin also familiarized himself with the exhibition centers of Azerbaijan and Belarus. Baku’s Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu informed the president that the pavilion of then Azerbaijan SSR was designed by famous Azerbaijani architects Mikail Huseynov and Sadykh Dadashov.

He noted that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation developed a plan for the reconstruction and restoration of the pavilion, which is expected to encompass the cultural and historical heritage of Azerbaijan, AzerTac state news agency reported.
