Baku to host International Specialized Master’s event
By Sara Rajabova
The Access Masters Tour – a leading international business education fair – will take place in Baku on 12 March.
“Access Masters is designed to bridge the distance between aspiring students and elite business schools from around the world through personalized One-to-One meetings between candidates and school representatives” said Christophe Coutat, Advent Group’s Managing Director, which is the organizer of the event.
The One-to-One meetings are aimed at helping prospective students find a Master’s program in business that corresponds to their abilities and expectations. Interviews are customized for each participant in advance, and qualified attendees are given 25 minutes to discuss their opportunities for postgraduate business education directly with admission directors. In order to qualify for the meetings, candidates undergo a selection and matching process which considers both their qualifications and wishes.
The event is composed of business schools from Europe and North America, as well as from the wider Eurasia region. Candidates can expect to meet representatives from schools such as IE Business School, University of Edinburgh Business School, Duisenberg School of Finance, while a total of 60 schools will feature in the Access Masters Tour this year.
The fair is based on the trademarked format of Access MBA, a similar series of events, also organized by Advent Group but focused on the MBA degree. The current event is part of the Access Masters’ Spring tour, which will visit a total of 34 cities across the world this season alone. It is expected that the event will be attended by up to 200 specifically selected candidates from Baku and elsewhere around the country.
The event starts at 3:00p.m.and will last until 8:15p.m. Besides the private One-to-One meetings with admission officers, candidates will also participate in Thematic Workshops which will provide detailed information about the various Master's programs offered by universities at the event. Fields of study that will be represented at the workshops include Business and Strategy, Management and Organization, Finance and Accounting, as well as Marketing and Communication.
According to a Financial Times 2014 survey on the leading Master's programs in business, over 90 percent of Master’s degree holders found employment in no more than three months upon graduation, while approximately 30 percent of Master's degree respondents stated that they managed to change jobs as a result of their postgraduate education.
In order to be selected for the One-to-One meetings, candidates are required to register online athttp://www.accessmasterstour.com/baku/index.htmlwell in advance. Registration is free of charge, but does not guarantee an opportunity to attend a One-to-One meeting, which is subject to consideration by the Access Masters Candidate Management team.
