Azerbaijan is planning to allocate 25.8 million manats to farmers for fuel and motor oil used in the cultivation of the lands.
The decision was made at the regular meeting of the republican committee. Based on it, 40 manats for each hectare of cultivated area, as well as 50 percent of the total cost of fertilizers would be allocated to the agricultural producers from the state budget.
Also, it was decided to allocate around 25.786 million manats for purchasing fuel and motor oil to 180,877 agricultural producers of 27 regions (cities) to cultivate 644,642 hectares of lands.
The relevant documents have been sent to the Finance Ministry, Kapital Bank and executive authorities of regions (cities) for final approval.
Information about the list of farmers and other details will be published in the 'Grants' section of the official website of the Agricultural Ministry (http://agro.gov.az).
Azerbaijan, the post-Soviet country with excellent natural conditions and unique priorities, has been allocating subsidies to agricultural producers since 2007.
The Azerbaijani farmers are exempt from all taxes (excepting land tax) in accordance with the law on providing tax privileges to agricultural producers adopted on November 27, 2001.
Azerbaijan with a population of over 9.5 million people has allocated 20.15 million manats for farmers in the state budget of 2014.
The agricultural sector is important not only for increasing Azerbaijan's export potential, but also for restoring and protecting the country's food security.
Protecting the quality and price of food stuff produced in Azerbaijan and producing them in accordance with quality standards are among the top issues of the country's food security.
