Azerbaijani businessmen invited to investment forum in Sochi
Russia's Sochi city will host the 13th International Investment Forum 'Sochi-2014' on September 18-21, Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) said.
There will be created conditions for establishing a dialogue between the representatives of the private sector and state structures and detailed information will be provided about the investment climate in Russia during the event.
Azerbaijani entrepreneurs have also been invited to take part in this forum, according to AZPROMO.
Russia is the main trade partner of Azerbaijan in the CIS. Over the past ten years, the volume of Azerbaijan's investment in Russia's economy amounted to around $1 billion, $200 million of which fell on 2013.
According to Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $755.45 million in January-May 2014. At the same time, Azerbaijan's imports from Russia amounted to $512.83 million.
About 570 Russian companies are operating in the country, and over $628 million was invested in fixed capital.
