GDP up 16.7% in seven months
Azerbaijan`s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew 16.7% from
January-July to reach $27.732 billion.
Growth in the non-oil sector made up 15% of the GDP during this period, according to the State Statistics Committee. As a comparison, the figure was only 8.5% for the same period in 2007.
The government predicts that the country`s economic growth rate will reach 18.2% by the end of 2008.
