Georgia sees decline in cattle exports to Azerbaijan

In the first two months of 2014, 2,280 tons of cattle in live weight worth $5.87 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan.

The news was announced by the Georgian National Statistics Office.

During the reported period, the specific weight of this category among all Georgian exports to Azerbaijan stood at 7.88 percent.

Compared with the same period last year, cattle exports from Georgia to Azerbaijan in the first two months of 2014 decreased by 3.29 percent -100 tons. During the same period in 2013, 2,380 tons of cattle in live weight worth $6.07 million were exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan.

During the first two months of 2014, Georgia exported goods worth $74.53 million to Azerbaijan, which is 24.3 percent of the country's total exports during the reported period.

Exports to Azerbaijan decreased by 14.47 percent compared to the same period in 2013; Georgian goods exported to Azerbaijan amounted to $87.14 million in the first two months of 2013.

Azerbaijan holds second place among Georgia's largest trade partners. Georgian exports to Azerbaijan include vehicles, cattle (in live weight), iron reinforcements, cement, mineral water, glass and glass products, and medicines.

Azerbaijan's exports to Georgia include oil and petroleum products, natural gas, trucks, and construction materials.
