Great potential exist for boosting Azerbaijan-Hungary economic ties

Azerbaijan's Economy and Industry Minister Shahin Mustafayev has met Hungarian State Secretary Peter Szijjarto in the framework of the two-day Azerbaijani-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, which opened in Baku on January 27.

Mustafayev said Azerbaijan-Hungary relations are built on the mutual respect and fruitful cooperation, and emphasized the importance of high-level visits in terms of expanding the bilateral ties.

The sides also hailed their countries' cooperation as successful in a variety of fields, including industry, energy, transport, agriculture, communication and information technologies, pharmaceutics, environment, culture, and tourism, praising the fact that Azerbaijan-Hungary bilateral trade saw a 40 percent growth.

Szijjarto, in turn, emphasized "great potential" for enhancing the bilateral cooperation in healthcare, agriculture, tourism, and energy areas.

Earlier, Peter Szijjarto met with Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Artur Rasizade. They discussed progress achieved over the last period of the 3rd meeting of the Azerbaijan-Hungary Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, as well as the ways of expanding mutual fruitful cooperation even further.
