The second Domotex Middle East exhibition, which was held on November 7-10, 2013 at IFM Istanbul Expo Center in Istanbul, brought together important decision makers from the construction and textile sectors.

Special hosted buyer groups and buyer delegations from Middle East and Turkey beneficially generated trade volume throughout the exhibition.

The exhibition hosted high-ranking delegates from enterprises, industry associations and institutions from a whole range of countries, including Lebanon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Oman, Iran and Iraq. Among the visitors were senior procurement executives and project managers in charge of major construction projects, as well as leading architects and interior designers.

Besides, exhibitors from 16 countries worldwide- including China, Germany, Iran and India- participated with their official country pavilions.

Fresh & innovative products attracted visitors

Throughout the four-days of the exhibition visitors could see and touch the wide product range of the flooring industry. In addition to well-established products, the exhibition also presented interesting new trends.

The Iranian pavilion displayed handmade patchwork carpets and Soumak Rugs which were dyed using a vegetable technique.

The Chinese pavilion presented mainly their colorful carpets, which are made by machines based on the color orders coming from customers.

The German pavilion showcased innovative and future oriented solutions regarding the carpet and flooring sector. Especially the carpets made from bamboo and corn gathered high interest because of their respect for ecological balance. The design parquets resistant against dust and humidity were also remarkable. In the local stands diverse products such as stress free, special flavored, negative ionized and lid carpets attracted the visitors.

Throughout the show concurrent events were organized.

Carpet and rug restoration workshop

An "Old carpet and rugs restoration workshop" was presented in cooperation with IHIB during the whole fair period in order to draw attention to this special sector in Turkey.

Old carpets and rugs which were restored before were showcased to visitors, especially antique carpet buyers.

IHIB carpet design awards

On the first day of the exhibition the IHIB carpet design awards took place at the main foyer. The carpet with the best design received an award at a cocktail ceremony.

ZGF Forum

The ZGF "Future of Flooring" Forum took place at the second day of the exhibition. Regarding the topic "Outlook of Global Parquet Flooring Industry", parquet industry experts discussed the developments and challenges of the parquet sector.

YES Forum

Due to the boom in the construction sector that architecture plays nowadays, an especially important role in Turkey, the YES (Building Structure Aesthetics) forum provided new perspectives to the construction sector at the third day of the exhibition among the main topics "Interior Architects Role and Position in the Construction Industry".

The organization of the YES Forum 2013 was in collaboration with the three organizations: Turkish Chamber of Interior Architects Istanbul Branch, Hannover Fairs Turkey Fuarcılık A.Ş. and GET Foreign Trade Ltd. Co. LTD - ORSİAD Journal.

Domotex Middle East, which is organized by Deutsche Messe subsidiary Hannover Fairs Turkey Fuarcılık A.S., is aimed primarily at trade visitors from Turkey and the Middle East. Deutsche Messe runs a total of four trade fairs under the DOMOTEX brand.

The 2014 season of Domotex fairs will kick off on January 11, when the four-day Hannover-based show, the original and largest fair of the world-leading Domotex franchise, opens its gates.

Two months later, from March 25-27, 2014, Deutsche Messe subsidiary Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai will join forces with VNU Exhibitions Asia and Build Your Dream to stage Domotex Asia/CHINAFLOOR in Shanghai, which is targeted at trade visitors from the entire Asia-Pacific region.

Shortly after, from April 1-3, industry professionals from Russia and the CIS states will gather in Moscow to attend DOMOTEX Russia.
