Turkish company keen to open its office at Sumgait industrial park

The Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park, near Azerbaijan's capital Baku, hosted a meeting with the Weber Saint Gobain Yapı Yapı Kimyasalları Tic. Aş., a Turkish representation of French company.

The Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park regularly holds such meetings with local and foreign companies, organizes presentations in the country and abroad in an effort to attract investors, the Azerbaijan's Economic Development Ministry said.

During the meeting, Levent Gokche, Director General of Turkish representation of Weber Saint Gobain Yapı Kimyasalları Tic. Aş. and Engin Onder, the company's director on plants and investments were provided with details on Sumgayit chemical industrial park and were informed about its certain benefits for residents.

it was noted a "one contact" system to be introduced in the this area will faciliate the registration process, enabling to offer more efficient services in the industrial park.

In turn, Weber Saint Gobain representatives expressed a desire to open a representative office in Azerbaijan.

Waber Saint Gobain with its headquarters in France operates offices in 64 countries. The company profiles are construction sector, innovative materials and packing.

The industrial park, which is one of the largest ongoing regional projects in the chemical industry, is considering about 20 investment projects, related mainly to the production of packaging materials, construction, medical products and other types of chemical products, including polymers.

The 168 hectares park is ongoing construction and infrastructure development, has 7-year-long tax exemption and many other benefits.

The park was established in Azerbaijan in 2011 to become a territory which has the necessary infrastructure, logistics, management structures for the development of new and high technologies, research in the fields of energy efficiency, space and telecommunications, information technologies and communications.
