Azerbaijan Railways CJSC reconstructed a sector of railway line with a length of 82 kilometers in the first half of the year, Azerbaijan Railways head Arif Askerov said in his article published in official press.

According to the article, the volume of cargo transports during the reporting period amounted to 11.2 million tons. Some 2.9 million tons out of these transits were cargo transits, some 1.8 million tons were exports and 3.3 million tons were basic transits.

An increase was observed in passenger transportation. Some 1.155 million people were transported from railway stations.

"The total incomes of railways in the first half-year amounted to 111.4 million manats, some 100.6 million manats out of which were received from cargo transportations, and 10.8 million manats were received from passenger transportations. The expeditures on works and services in this period amounted to 104.6 million manats," the article reads.

Thus, in January-June the company received an income in the amount of 6.8 million manats.
