Feasibility study for Nakhchivan-Kars railway completed

A feasibility study for a project of construction of the Nakhchivan-Kars railway has been completed, head of Azerbaijan Railways Arif Asgarov said.

"Planning on the railway is going ahead. Azerbaijan will carry out the construction of its own section of the Nakhchivan-Kars railway," Asgarov added.

The proposed 223-kilometer Kars-Nakhchivan route will connect Kars, Susuz, Diludzhu, and Nakhchivan.

Nakhchivan is in blockade because of Armenia's occupying 20 percent of neighboring Azerbaijan's territory. People arrive in the autonomous republic by air or by road through Iran.
