Azerbaijan, Tajikistan boosting trade

Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan increased 2.5 times to $60 million in 2012. The figure was cited in a meeting of Azerbaijani Ambassador in Dushanbe Abbasali Hasanov and President Emomali Rahmon, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported on Thursday with reference to the presidential press-service.

According to the report, the sides mentioned the need to intensify efforts in the enforcement of documents signed by the two countries.

The sides welcomed the growth of the trade turnover and stressed that the implementation of bilateral documents will take Azerbaijani-Tajik relations to a new level.

Then Hasanov and Rahmon discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperation of the two countries and its prospects.

The Tajik president supported holding scientific-cultural events in Tajikistan in honor of the 90th anniversary of Azerbaijani National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
