Poland aims to draw Azerbaijani investors to aviation, automotive industries
Aircraft and automotive industries are on advanced level in
Poland, and the government is interested in attracting foreign,
including Azerbaijani, investors for cooperation in these areas,
head of the PALilZ investment agency Iwona Chojnowska-Haponik said
at a meeting with Azerbaijani journalists.
Among other promising areas of possible activities for Azerbaijani
companies she mentioned electronics manufacturing, the agricultural
sector, the food industry, heavy chemicals, coal
power and the scope of alternative energy.
Today, the two countries are actively developing cooperation in
many areas, but the level of cooperation does not fully cover the
potential, she said. According to her, Azerbaijani business at the
moment is represented in Poland at negligible level, although there
are favorable conditions for doing business.
The PAlilZ representative noted that a regular meeting of the
intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, which was
held on Tuesday in Warsaw, identified all promising areas of future
cooperation.
According to her, Poland can also be a reliable partner of
Azerbaijan in another promising area for the country - the
diversification of energy resources delivery.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, the
trade turnover between the two countries for the first ten months
of this year amounted to almost $37 million, of which the share of
exports was $2.38 million and imports - $34.55 million.
Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency, PAIiIZ, seeks to
increase the inflow of foreign direct investments in Poland,
attracting overseas investors to place their capital in the
country. It assists in the interpretation of the rules and legal
procedures at various stages of the investment process.
