Azeri metallurgical industry up 14 pct
Azerbaijan's metallurgical industry produced products and rendered services worth 302.8 million manat in Jan.-Aug., the State Statistics Committee told Trend news agency on Monday.
During this period, production in metallurgical industry increased by 13.8 percent, while finished metal products increased by 76.2 times.
Some 154,100c steel casting was produced in Jan.-Aug., and steel pipes -- 42,500 tons.
Production of iron casting reached 680.3 tons, which is 3.2 percent more than in the same period of 2011.
Export of semi-finished products made from ferrous metal totaled 85,700 tons (in the amount of more than $45 million), which is 38.2 percent below the same period of 2011.
The amount of exported pipes made from ferrous metal was 28,400 tons (in the amount of over $27.1 million), which is 51.4 percent less compared to the same period of 2011.
