Boeing presents 787 Dreamliner aircraft in Azerbaijan
Boeing Corporation has held a promotional tour of the new 787 Dreamliner aircraft in Azerbaijan.
Eldar Hajiyev, Vice-President of the state-run Azerbaijan Airlines (AzAL), said it is the most modern aircraft, which is manufactured and assembled from composite materials, and is very economical.
Azerbaijan will receive two 787 Dreamliner aircraft in 2014. The cost of each aircraft is $90 million.
Azerbaijan will be the first country in the South Caucasus and Central Asia regions to receive such planes, Hajiyev said.
Marty Bentrott, Boeing Corporation Vice President of Sales for Middle East, Russia and Central Asia, said the company is very pleased to cooperate with Azerbaijan and considers AzAL its major partner.
Boeing Corporation representatives visited Baku April 2-3 to promote the new 787 Dreamliner aircraft in the world in the frames of the 787 Dream Tour.
787 Dreamliner, equipped with modern technology, the fuselage of which is made of composite material, will also be presented in Santiago (Chile), Shannon (Ireland), Moscow (Russia), Istanbul (Turkey) and Madrid (Spain) during the world tour.
