Azerbaijan ranks 2nd in CIS on inflation
Azerbaijan ranks second in the Commonwealth of Independent States
(CIS) on inflation, the CIS Statistics Committee estimates.
The indicator was 8 per cent in Azerbaijan in the first quarter of 2008. Nonetheless, the price rises were below those registered in the same period of last year when inflation stood at 9.3 per cent.
Ukraine tops the list of former Soviet republics. Inflation rose 9.7 per cent in the country in Q1. Inflation made up 4.8 per cent in Russia and Armenia, 4.1 per cent in Moldova and Belarus.
