Over 22m tons of cargo transported by rail in 2011
Azerbaijan Railways transported 22.1 million tons of cargo in 2011, its head, Arif Asgarov, said at a meeting.
A tiny decrease was posted compared to 22.2 million tons of cargo transported in 2010, according to the State Statistics Committee.
Domestic freight accounted for about 4.4 million tons of the total volume of transported goods, while another 4.4 million tons were transported under export operations, 5.5 million tons - under import transactions, and the volume of transit goods was 7.8 million tons.
