Azeri steel company, Siemens sign deal to supply equipment
Baku Steel Company, which intends to invest 15 million euros in production, has signed a contract with Germany’s Siemens to replace an existing melting furnace, the company said on Tuesday.
As a result of the replacement, output capacity is expected to increase in the first section of the plant from the current 350,000 tons to 500,000 tons.
Dust and smoke suppression installations will also be replaced. The equipment is fully automated and has a mechanism to automatically control the emission of harmful substances.
The new project will create suitable conditions to increase the plant’s capacity to 1.1 million tons a year in the future.
