Azeri furniture maker Embawood presents innovative quality system
Major Azerbaijani furniture maker Embawood has presented an innovative quality system launched jointly with German specialists.
Steven Robinson of Schuler Consulting, a company cooperating with Embawood, said in his remarks that the quality system applied by the Azerbaijani firm is one of the biggest steps taken to minimize shortfalls in the production process. He said "quality doors" are used to reach this goal.
"Thus, if a problem emerges during any stage of the production process, it is identified in a relevant ‘quality door’, the product is returned, and the possibility of the problem reoccurring is nullified."
Embawood Marketing Director Ilkin Manafov spoke of the company’s new projects. He said Embawood will present a new "city concept" next year, which envisions elements of numerous cities in the furniture design. In addition to the Azerbaijani capital Baku, the concept covers five foreign cities.
Embawood, established in 1996, exports domestically made furniture in over 10 countries and runs more than 200 stores there. "The company entered the Ukrainian market early this year and plans to boost its operations in Russia, Iran and Ukraine next year. In Georgia, Embawood holds 8-9 percent market share," Manafov said.
In Azerbaijan, the company operates three furniture plants and 55 sales outlets.
