Azeri president hosts World Bank`s regional director
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met Thursday Asad Alam, World Bank`s Regional Director for the South Caucasus.
Alam congratulated President Aliyev on the accomplishments made in Azerbaijan since the country regained independence 20 years ago. He praised the World Bank`s successful cooperation with Azerbaijan.
President Aliyev highly appreciated cooperation between the World Bank and Azerbaijan. He added projects of mutual interest would be supported in the future, as well.
They stressed the rapid development of non-oil sector in Azerbaijan in 2011. The importance of joint projects being carried out in Azerbaijan was emphasized at the meeting.
