Azercell investing in HR
Azerbaijan's leading cellular provider Azercell made investments in
the country's human resources exceeding $1.5 million in 2007, the
company's general manager said.
"Investing in people means investing in the country's future," Halim Ates told an international conference on telecommunications and ICT, Caspian Telecoms 2008, in Istanbul on Friday.
Azercell Telecom's capital investments have made up $600 million throughout its operation. One of the biggest taxpayers in Azerbaijan, the cellular operator has transferred $400 million to the state budget and state bodies so far.
Azercell's clientele exceeds 3 million people.
