Azeri central bank slightly raises rates
BAKU – Interest rates in Azerbaijan will be increased 0.25 percent to 5.25 percent from May 6, according to a decision of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
In order to control the growth rate of money supply, the bank also decided to increase the compulsory hedge fund requirement on liabilities of banks in foreign currency from 2 to 3 pct, the CBA said on Friday.
The decisions were made as part of CBA’s efforts to preserve price stability.
