In 2016, the fast-growing South Caucasus republic is expected to post GDP growth of 2.8 pct, though the IMF in its previous report said the growth rate was likely to drop to 0.9 pct in 2015.
Inflation is predicted at 10.3 pct in Azerbaijan in 2011, up from the previously predicted 5 pct. The figure is expected to decrease to 7.5 pct in 2012. In 2016, inflation is estimated at 5 pct.

The ADB raised its forecast on inflation expected in Azerbaijan in 2011 to 7.5 pct from 4 pct as global price pressures increase. In 2012, inflation is predicted at 7 pct.
The ADB said that in 2011 and 2012 Azerbaijan will be the leader in Central Asia on the balance of payments surplus. The surplus will equal those of Hong Kong and South Korea.
