Aliyev vows to cancel citizens’ water supply debt
BAKU – Azerbaijani citizens’ accumulated debt for water supply will be cancelled, President Ilham Aliyev has said.
President Aliyev said in a meeting with residents of the Zabrat settlement outside Baku on Thursday that consumers’ debt for drinking water has piled up over several years.
"I am aware that there are certain problems with paying off that debt, because in some cases it was not calculated correctly and the fines imposed on the population are at times baseless. I have therefore instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to look into the issue so that we could erase the debt that has emerged in the past period."
