Azeri cell operator Azerfon to invest $15m in infrastructure
BAKU – Azerbaijan’s cellular operator Azerfon plans to invest $15 million in infrastructure improvements, the company’s CEO, Jurgen Peetz, has said.
Peetz told The Azerbaijan Investors Summit 2011 in Baku on Thursday that the funds will be spent on bettering the transmission of signals.
"By September or October a considerable improvement will be seen in the quality of signal reception," he said.
Peetz noted that it is impossible to improve the quality of customer service without making investments and streamlining infrastructure.
Azerfon, which operates with NarMobile trademark, launched its operation in Azerbaijan in 2007. The company covers 80 percent of Azerbaijani territory and provides services to 1.7 million people in the country of 9 million.
