Azerbaijan’s tax income up 4.4 pct
BAKU – Tax transfers to Azerbaijan’s state budget made up 4.294 billion manats (over $5.367 billion) in 2010, or 4.4 percent above 2009, the government estimates.
Deputy Minister of Taxes Natig Amirov told a news conference Tuesday that about $3.396bn, or 63.3 pct of the taxes, was contributed by the private sector. The figure is 13.6 pct over the amount posted in 2009.
Tax revenues from the country’s non-oil sector also increased in 2010, reaching some $2.948 billion, or $226 million above the previous year, Amirov added.
