New Hyundai Sonata now available in Azerbaijan
Hyundai Auto Azerbaijan's long-awaited model
complying with a new design philosophy was showcased in Baku on
Tuesday. The company held the ceremony at the Genesis Gallery
showroom in the presence of media representatives.
The revamped Hyundai Sonata mid-size sedan, which had been anxiously awaited by drivers, was put on sale in Azerbaijan last Saturday. The sixth-generation Sonata is the first model developed under the company's "Fluidic Sculpture" philosophy.
Rustam Mammadov, Hyundai Auto Azerbaijan's Marketing Manager, said Sonata has always been a top priority for Hyundai and has already gained a certain image.
"The new model is not a restyling of Sonata, but its regeneration. The Hyundai company has invested quite heavily in developing a new design philosophy, and it has been a success," Mammadov said.
The previous generation of Sonata vehicles was conventionally styled and mainly catered to the needs of middle-aged customers. The new model, however, is 2 centimeters longer and its design resembles that of a sports car.
"If we look at the way Sonata was developed, we can see that it is equipped nearly as vehicles of the luxury class," the marketing manager said.
The new Sonata model has 165 and 178 horse power motors. Advanced features also include Full Panorama, LED lights, nickel supplements in its design, tracking sensors, X-shaped interior design, soft dash-board coating, Paddle Shifter system for tiptronic control, back-seat heating, etc.
Over 30,000 orders for the new Sonata have been placed in Korea, and the demand for these vehicles is high in the United States as well. Sonata has already been named Car of the Year by the USA Today and US NEWS newspapers.
Despite a number of advantages, Hyundai Sonata is selling in Azerbaijan for an affordable price of 20,500 to 24,900 manats (up to $31,100).
