A one-of-the-kind yarn factory and a trade center meeting European standards opened in Azerbaijan on Friday in a ceremony attended by President Ilham Aliyev.
The goods produced at the factory, along with meeting domestic demand, will be exported to Russia. The enterprise has been supplied with up-to-date Switzerland-made equipment and has the annual capacity of 7,000 tons of yarn. About 14.3 million manats (some $17 million) have been invested in the factory.
The capacities of the enterprise allow to produce yarn of 30 types. A special laboratory supplied with equipment delivered from Germany is available to ensure the output of high-quality products.
President Aliyev, who toured the facility, enquired about the production process.
Aliyev further inaugurated an international trade center consisting of a nine-storied business center and a three-storied hotel building. Funds to the tune of 11.5 million manats ($13.7 million) have been spent to build the complex and install the required equipment.
