Korea keen on closer co-op with Azerbaijan: envoy
Korea plans to strengthen comprehensive cooperation with Azerbaijan, the country’s Ambassador in Baku, Lee Ji-ha, has said.
"Following the policy of developing international cooperation, Korea intends to develop bilateral relations with Azerbaijan and has selected 30 countries, including Azerbaijan, as its priority partners," he told reporters on Thursday.
According to him, unlike Azerbaijan, Korea does not possess vast natural resources, but has extensive human potential. "In terms of shipbuilding, automotive and computer technologies, Korea is one of the most advanced countries in the world," Lee Ji-ha said.
He noted that in past years Korea and Azerbaijan have cooperated mainly in the transport and construction sectors.
"Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed the idea to work together in the field of developing alternative energy sources, and several mechanisms of cooperation between the two countries have been outlined," the diplomat said.*
