Flights link southern Azeri town with Moscow
A direct passenger flight between Azerbaijan’s southern town of Lankaran and Moscow opened on Monday. The flights will be carried out by Russia’s VIM Airlines.
The first flight was administered from the Russian capital’s Domodedovo airport aboard a Boeing-757-200 plane, according to the VIM Airlines website.
The weekly flight will become biweekly from next March. A one-way ticket costs 182 euros.
The Russian airline currently implements flights to a number of cities including Barcelona and Soloniki.
The Lankaran airport, which was commissioned in the fall of 2008, was built with state support. 51.1 million manats (almost $64 million) had been allocated from the state budget for its construction.*
